About St. Vincent’s Inpatient Pharmacy Department
St. Vincent’s Medical Center is a 473-bed community teaching hospital located in Bridgeport, CT. St. Vincent’s is a Level II trauma center and an advanced thrombectomy capable stroke center. In addition, St. Vincent’s has an inpatient psychiatric facility located in Westport, CT.
St. Vincent’s provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services with regional centers of excellence in cardiology, surgery, cancer care, orthopedics, diagnostics, women’s and family services, behavioral health, senior health, and an array of specialized services.
The inpatient pharmacy at St. Vincent’s provides 24-hour comprehensive pharmaceutical services.
The Department of Pharmacy Services at SVMC provides 24-hour comprehensive pharmaceutical services. The present staff of more than 62 employees (approximately 30 pharmacists) provides a decentralized drug distribution (Pyxis) service, complete IV admixture, chemotherapy preparation services, controlled substances distribution, and clinical monitoring and interventions
